Installing eComStation inside VirtualBox

this is a little how to for installing eComStation inside VirtualBox

what you need:

• VirtualBox installed on a host which supports the VT-x/AMD-V extension
• eComStation 2.0 RC5 ISO
• http://ktk.netlabs.org/misc/ecsinstimg.zip∞

How to get this working:

1. Create a new Virtual Machine for OS/2 4.5
2. Create a VDI (Virtual Harddisk Image ) where you want to install eComStation on
3. Add the ecsinst.vdi from the zip file to your image list in the virtual disk manager
4. Add the ISO to you CD image list

on your new virtual machine:

1. Set ecsinst.vdi as your primary master disk
2. Set your newly created VDI as primary slave
3. Set the ISO as CD image
4. Boot the virtual machine
5. When the CD boot prompt appears, boot from harddisk
6. You will get to the eComStation Installer
7. On the hardware page deselect VGA on the generic video driver.
8. After phase 1 switch the master and slave disks ( you need to completly turn of the virtual machine )
9. Finish the eComStation installation
10. On drive I: you will find OS2add.zip unzip, and read the readme to get the additions installed.

Limitations:

• eComStation CD will always be on drive S
• Installer volume has to be drive I
