• we may need to provide/maintain our own DDK, including USB stack (and MSD) - good idea to start this in time
• Netlabs is considering a USB distro based on latest DDK sources and updated drivers

  When we have the latest source code:

• Drivers we should maintain ourselves: 1. We should first look at USBD.SYS (the core driver of the stack. The USB device enumaration used by Martin Kiewitz his Casio MP3 watch driver interface (can be found on hobbes) with source code. We need to use the "Windows way"/none standard enumaration way.
  Rudiger Ihle has one or more fixes for USBD.SYS

• USBMSD.ADD, maybe look at Linux sources MSD support...
• (Ask Chris Wohlgemuth what he did with his driver)
• USBNIC
• USB sound
• USB modem (especially this one is important..

• Drivers to use from IBM (because they seem stable enough) CDROM

Maybe the developer of the firewire stack could do some of the work.


JFS compatibility
IBM JFS damages bootable JFS volume. It is recommended embed JFS for eComStation into eComStation Media Refresh today, not in 2006. To minimize user troubles in the future (Eugene Gorbunoff)
